On behalf of the SilverStar team, I can assure you that in these times of uncertainty regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19), the safety of our homes and the wellbeing of our guests remain our highest priority.

Highest Quality Care

Providing safe and clean environments for our guests is always a top priority for SilverStar – even more so today. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, and want you to feel at ease when you visit your home in Telluride.  Over 2 weeks ago, when the COVID-19 virus spread seemed to be ramping up, we implemented new protocols for cleaning at all of our properties and buildings.

The below summary of our precautionary and response measures are helping us continue to provide a safe and clean environment:

  • Comprehensive COVID-19 guidance is in place at SilverStar detailing how to protect against transmission of the virus in our homes and office including:
    • 1) implementing hand sanitizer stations,
    • 2) frequent cleaning of high-touch areas, where we manage entire buildings we are daily cleaning all high touch areas with chlorine wipes
    • 3) instructions to/training of staff as to how to maintain safe practices to prevent the spread of germs and protect themselves
    • 4) procedures in case there is a suspected or confirmed case among our owners, guests or staff (none so far)
    • 5) we are working to ensure we are doing all we can to minimize risks in our properties.
  • While the current risk in Colorado remains low, we are closely monitoring health officials’ recommendations. SilverStar will follow the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and our local health authorities. We are using the just-released CDPHE Environmental Cleaning Guidance for COVID-19 from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment as our guide and will update our procedures if and when those guidelines update. We also refer to CDC materials as well.

We will continue monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) updates, and will respond based on the advice of governments, public health authorities, and medical professionals.

Flexibility in travel plans

We believe in responsible and safe travel while staying vigilant and following the recommended procedures and protocols by the CDPHE, CDC and local authorities.  SilverStar continues to welcome our guests with our established operational excellence and commitment to care.

There was a briefing for the public by local public health and emergency preparedness authorities this week. They are monitoring the situation and making recommendations on a daily basis.  For example, the ski area is continuing normal operations, but have implemented changes such as reducing the number of people in Gondola cars and canceling two concerts which were scheduled at Club Red.
