Riding the free gondola ride from the town of Telluride to the Mountain Village is one of the easiest ways to take in all the sights the area has to offer. Hike the Trails (See the Leaves)

If you like hiking, you’re going to love Telluride! There are so many trails of varying lengths and difficulties to choose from, and many of them start right in the town of Telluride. If you want stunning views of fall foliage, try the San Miguel River trail. We also always recommend the Jud Wiebe trail—you’re not a Telluride local if you haven’t hiked this trail!

Hiking is the best way to enjoy the outdoor fall scenery. You should hike at least one trail during your stay in Telluride! You can also go biking or use an ATV where allowed.

Go Golfing

Telluride isn’t just for skiing—we have plenty of golf courses, too! Because the air in the Colorado Rockies is thinner due to the higher altitudes, it becomes an excellent place for golf. With thinner air and less resistance, golf balls can travel up to 15% further!

Golfing is ideal in the Fall when the weather is a little bit chilly and refreshing. Most of the golf courses in the area are open until halfway through October, so make sure you go golfing in Telluride before the courses close for the winter! While the Telluride Golf Club is almost exclusively members only, if you book a reservation in the Peaks Penthouses you get access to tee times!

Fun at a Festival

Festivals aren’t just for the summer—there are plenty of fall festivals in Telluride! Some notable fall festivals are the Blues & Brews Festival, the Telluride Autumn Classic, and the Telluride Horror Show.

The Blues & Brews Festival is held in the town park in. September. Enjoy some of the best craft beers from breweries across the country alongside a variety of music from blues, rock, and soul. There’s so much jam-packed in this festival like a 5k fundraiser race, morning yoga sessions, or cozy late-night shows.

Do you love all things automobile? Swing on by the Telluride Autumn Classic this September! This family-friendly festival is perfect for enthusiasts of automobiles, motorcycles, and more. Check out masterful restorations, flashy sports cars, live music, and plenty of art!

The Telluride Horror Show is a festival perfect for all horror movie lovers! Catch a few spooky films during this festavel in October. It’s Colorado’s first and largest horror film festival! From thrillers to slashers, enjoy every kind of horror movie with other film fans from all over the world.
